You certainly can’t climb Kilimanjaro in a day, but our day trip to this iconic, snow-capped mountain will give you an excellent taster of why Africa’s highest peak is so popular. During the course of the day, the tour will follow the popular Marangu Route and walk as far as the first hut – the Mandara – where picnic lunch will be taken. As other trekkers continue upwards, bound for the summit, the daytrip trekkers will make the descent again and return to Moshi/Arusha.

Trip Itinerary

Moshi/Arusha – Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut – Moshi/Arusha 

The day tour begins with the hotel pickup early in the morning after breakfast. Drive 1hour to the Marangu Gate, where registration will be done at the gate with Kilimanjaro National Park authorities, and the after begin hiking the Marangu Route, which approaches Kilimanjaro from the southeast. Enjoy the Montana forest, with the possibilities to see some animals and birds, after 3 to 4 hours reach the Mandara Hut and will only trek through the lower altitudes, taking picnic lunch on the way. Once reach the hut, will stop for a rest and then descend slowly back to Marangu Gate. The vehicle will be waiting to pick you up and return to Moshi/Arusha.
